About us

I am a retired (formerly designated) accountant who got bored with accounting jobs. I wasn’t bored with the accounting work itself – I was bored from constantly looking for work to do. At every job I would streamline processes, implement automation to create efficiencies, and generally make things more accurate and efficient. Looking back, I can see that I was always working myself out of a job and then go on to the next employer … rinse and repeat.

Along the way I always had a strong interest in information technology: from Excel (I loved VBA) to accounting software (I would always find unused modules or functionalities and put them to work).

My philosophy about bookkeeping is on the radical end. If a business needs bookkeeping just to satisfy the demands of government (i.e. track, record, calculate and remit taxes) then the government should pay the bookkeeping fees. I realize that is “pie in the sky” thinking, so I have put together a program whereby the client pays for results – increase in sales and profits – and that payment includes compensation for bookkeeping and information technology support.

Since exiting the accounting profession – I dropped my accounting designation a few years ago – I have been getting into marketing. My first “client” was as a volunteer (see the Client success page); this early success has led to this web site offering a unique service to struggling business owners across Canada and internationally.
